To be a "doctor ", I'm sure of the ph variety, your collaborator is sloppy with certain facts, and overall unimpressive. For example, Robert E. Lee and P.G.T. Beauregard didn't actually meet before Cold Harbor to decide strategy. There were courier messages and telegrams back and forth from the respective generals to the war department, i.e. Braxton Bragg and Jefferson Davis containing bits of suggestions about what each army could perhaps do to aid the other in decisively defeating one or both of the armies. Direct communication between the two generals did not occur until shortly before cold Harbor when Lee was trying to get his army reinforced.
